Training consists of high density microbial fermentation, bio-kinetics, biopolyester formation, metabolic analysis, and physiology of cells under high environmental stress. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in applied microbiology, biochemical engineering and related fields. Demonstrated ability to conduct experimental research in microbial cultures, bioreactor operation, and computer-aided process monitoring and control, chemical analysis with advanced instruments such as HPLC, GC, GC/MS and FTIR. Good written and oral communication skills, good publication record in peer reviewed journals, and ability to conduct research under minimum supervision. Stipend: $52,000 annual stipend.
