Temporary, Extramural funds. Training to be performed: Participate in research projects on Smart Grid, Micro Grid, and Renewable Energy Integration. Training consists of data collection and analysis, power system modeling and analysis, development of microgrid and distributed energy resource control, and other engineering analyses, studies, reports and presentations. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on research related to power systems. Pending conferment and All-But-Dissertation (ABD) cases will be considered. Experience with power systems analysis and knowledge of control theory as it relates to control of microgrid systems and power system components. Good written and oral communication skills, good publication record, ability to conduct research under minimum supervision, and the ability to work well in a team. Stipend: $60,000 annual stipend based on 40 hours per week.
