To begin approximately August, 2016.
Training to be Performed: Participate in projects to test, diagnose and prognose commercial batteries for electric vehicles and/or battery energy storage systems.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in science, engineering or related field. Demonstrated ability to use electrochemical methods, especially incremental capacity, and analytical methods for the identification of degradation mechanisms. Demonstrated experience in testing large commercial size Li-ion cells. Demonstrated ability to maintain equipment and organization skills to handle the simultaneous testing of multiple cells. Excellent team and, written and oral communication skills. Ability to safely conduct research with minimum supervision.
Desirable Qualifications: Prior experience in incremental capacity analysis. Prior experience in cell emulation and/or first principle modeling. Prior experience in commercial cell disassembly and half-cell testing.
Stipend: $5,000 per month.
