Post-Doctoral Fellow, federal funds, to begin immediately. 

We are seeking a candidate to participate in the development engineering designs, mass and energy balances, life cycle analyses and environmental management systems for the design and operation of industry scale wastewater treatment systems based upon combined anaerobic-aerobic packed bed reactor schemes. 

Training:  The positon targets the training of recent PhD graduates in the general area of engineering design research of wastewater treatment technologies.  The candidate will formulate their work schedule independently whilst communicating on a frequent basis and in collaboration with the project supervisor and supporting colleagues, formally and informally report their progress on a consistent basis.  The candidate will also have opportunity to gain experience with project supervision of undergraduate student research as appropriate.  

Minimum Qualifications:  PhD in civil, environmental, chemical, biological, and/or agricultural engineering as well as some demonstrated experience with common research lab equipment (examples:  UV/VIS, HPLC, GC) and biological cultivation.  The successful candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to learn new techniques, to review lab manuals, and to organize research. 

Stipend Range: $60,000 - $65,000 annual stipend.
