Duties: Develop GIS based renewable energy mapping tools for the State of Hawaii. Prepare project documentation including methods, maps, tables, results, and analysis. Prepare and execute of project summaries, reports, proposals, and technical manuscripts. Perform related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: M.S. in natural resource management, regional planning, geography, or related field. Demonstrated experience conducting extensive analysis of energy production systems using GIS-based programming. Proficient in the use of ESRI software and layers related to land topography, zoning, and climate data. Experience preparing and maintaining data to meet FGDC standards. Experience using ArcGIS Apps for Smartphones software. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to work effectively in research organization(s) and establish and maintain professional relationships with industry personnel. Desirable Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of GIS data layer repositories for the State of Hawaii at federal, state, and county levels and at nongovernment organizations. Salary: R2 rank; commensurate with qualifications and experience.
