Biomass Processing and Conversion
Hong Cui (PhD, Chemical Engineering, Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences), has over 20 years of experience in energy and fuels, with an emphasis in the areas of fuel chemistry, processing, and thermochemical conversion, including coal and biomass fuels. Following his graduate work, Dr. Cui spent a couple years working at Chubu University (Japan, 2002-2004) and Western Kentucky University (2004-2006). He joined the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2006 as a post-doctoral fellow and then the faculty in 2008. His current research focuses on biomass fuel processing, conversion, syngas reforming and cleanup.
