Project Engineer

Jack P. Huizingh (BSE – Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, BSE - Mechanical Engineering, University of Michigan, MSE – Mechanical Engineering, New York University) has many years of experience in management, engineering and economic analysis. Following graduate work, Mr. Huizingh spent 10 years with the International Nickel Corporation as a project manager for the company’s international deep ocean mining joint venture - Ocean Management Inc. As Executive Director of the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii, he was responsible for the overall management of the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii which managed the Keahole Ocean Research Laboratory and the Puna Geothermal Research Facility. At the University of Hawaii, he has managed the University Seed Capital Program at the Office of Technology Transfer and Economic Development as well as several federal and state funded transportation projects. Current duties at the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute include project management, engineering and facility management of HNEI’s - Hawaii Sustainable Energy Research Facility (HiSERF).
