Mithila joined the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute in December 2013. At HNEI she participates in outreach coordination, and Asia-Pacific partnership developments in the areas of rural electrification, renewables integration, smart grid technologies, energy efficiency and alternative fuels. She previously held various roles in program coordination with SK Johnson LLC, LPEP Renewable Energy Bangladesh, Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) and in the World Health Organization’s (WHO) EHA program (Emergency Humanitarian Action) during the Post-Sidr (cyclone) Response, with work focused on developing and implementing solutions in areas such as rural electrification, mini-grids, community based health support, biogas digesters, and sustainable energy development. She holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh.
