HNEI & ACCURE Battery Intelligence Collaborate on Battery Systems Research Project

Accure Battery Intelligence and HNEI team up to develop novel approaches for the determination of the aging and safety status of field deployed battery systems. Within a joint research project planned for the next three years, the two partners will combine their knowledge to adapt methods currently used in lab-scale for single battery cells to a highly scalable solution suitable for large storage systems with multiple MWh of installed battery capacity. Focus of the research activities is the adaptation of digital twins methodologies to stochastic deployed systems. The goal is to gain a deep understanding of the aging mechanisms under varied operation conditions like load profile, ambient temperature and system design and to use this knowledge to guarantee a safe operation and extend the battery lifetime.

ACCURE works with field data from multiple stationary (e.g., PV home storage, industrial and large scale storage systems) and mobile applications (e.g., electric vehicles, trucks and maritime applications) and uses cloud-computing in combination with big-data analytics and AI to make battery systems more safe, reliable and sustainable.
