Post-Doctoral Fellow, temporary, federal funds. Training to be Performed: To research protein and bio-oil extraction from biomass. Training will include liquid-liquid extraction, protein purification and analysis, bio-oil purification, separation, and analysis. The successful candidate will also seek to advance fundamental understanding of solubility and phase separation, as well as protein stabilization in high salt solutions. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in chemical/biochemical engineering, chemistry or biotechnolgoy, or related discipline. Demonstrated capacity to work and communicate with internal and external colleagues in a collaborative manner towards the collective accomplishment of overall project goals; to formally and informally report their plans and progress on a regular basis; and, to become a leader in the lab environment. Demonstrated ability to learn new techniques, to review the literature, and to plan and execute experiments leading to knew knowledge. Stipend: $45,000 annual stipend. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in engineering or related field. Demonstrated ability to conduct macroscale energy systems modeling research based on mass and energy flows of biological systems. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to conduct research with minimum supervision. Desirable Qualifications: Demonstrated experience using AspenPlus, SimaPro, or similar process simulation software. Stipend: $50,400 annual stipend.
