Hawai'i Natural Energy Institute, SOEST, temporary, extramural funds. To begin approximately April 2020.
Training to be Performed: Participate in projects to develop electrodes for aqueous Na-based batteries.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in science, engineering or related field. Demonstrated ability to use electrochemical methods, especially incremental capacity, and analytical methods for the identification of degradation mechanisms. Demonstrated experience in material synthesis, electrode preparation and optimization. Demonstrated ability to maintain equipment and organization skills to handle the simultaneous testing of multiple cells. Excellent team and, written and oral communication skills. Ability to safely conduct research with minimum supervision.
Desirable Qualifications: Prior experience in electrode preparation and half-cell testing. Prior experience in design of experiments.
Stipend: $5,000 per month.
