HNEI’s Grid System Technologies Advanced Research Team (GridSTART) is providing University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa personnel access to two electric vehicles (EVs) in order to further efforts to optimize charge/discharge of shared vehicles for energy cost minimization. After completing the necessary training, qualified personnel can use the two vehicles located on campus.
The frequent and continued use of these EVs will allow GridSTART to evaluate and demonstrate the optimization novel algorithms that were developed for this project. HNEI researchers will continue to monitor performance and collect and analysis data.
