The City and County of Honolulu’s Climate Change Commission issued their guidance document “Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions From Building Operation.” This paper “provides potential actions for the City’s consideration in order to mitigate climate change through reduction of GHG emissions from buildings’ operational energy use and to adapt to climate change through
the implementation of sustainable and resilient development policies and design strategies.” A collaboration between HNEI, UH School of Architecture’s Environmental Research and Design Lab, UH Hawaii Sea Grant, and the City and County of Honolulu Climate Change Commission, the paper is one of several strategies being implemented by the City and County of Honolulu to mitigate the impact of climate change.
This project was funded by HNEI, through funds allocated from the State of Hawai’i’s Energy Systems Development Special Fund (ESDSF).
