High Rate Anaerobic-Aerobic Digestion (2009-2021)
Produced a master design, inclusive of PID diagrams, costing, manufacturing, and shipping to build and install a wastewater treatment system designed from past research and commercial demonstration projects.
Bio-Oil Extraction (2009-2018)
Investigated and patented a multi-component process that extracted bio-oils, protein, fermentable sugars, and high value metabolites from oil-bearing biomass using ionic liquid based solvents.
Water, Energy, and Soil Sustainability (2011-2013)
Supported integrated effort of State government, industry, venture capital, legal/regulatory authorities, private sector, and UH to pursue collaborative projects striving for water, energy, and soil sustainability in Hawai‘i.
