Power Systems Engineer
Jonathan Kobayashi received his B.Sc. in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2011 and his M.Sc. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2013. He has worked as a power electronics researcher at the Energy Harvesting and Renewable Energies Laboratory (EHREL) at IIT developing an experimental bi-directional AC/DC and DC/DC power electronics converter for plug-in hybrid vehicles. He has also worked as a researcher at the Hybrid Systems Laboratory at UC Berkeley integrating a LIDAR sensor with a quadrotor to perform simultaneous localization and mapping for navigation. He currently works as research support at the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute (HNEI) assisting with the study of photovoltaic performance and conservation voltage reduction.
