Staci Sadoyama

Staci joined the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute (HNEI) in 2014 as a Power Systems Engineer with the GridSTART team focused on the integration and analysis of energy technologies and power systems, including smart grid and micro grid applications. Staci started her career with Lockheed Martin as a signal processing/software engineer working on the development of algorithms for detection and classification of various types of signals. In the latter part of her career, she primarily worked on the development and integration of algorithms for the Kalman filter based tracker into the LM Automated Localization Fusion Processor. After 10 years at Lockheed Martin, Staci joined Hawaiian Electric Company as a Protection Engineer. She worked on developing relay protection settings, system modeling and coordination studies for the power grids on Oahu, Maui, and Big Island. Staci holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Loyola Marymount University and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaii.
