Zakaria Afsharbakeshloo​ received the M.Sc. degree in electrical power engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2018. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA, USA, in 2025. He joined the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute (HNEI) as a postdoctoral researcher in November 2025. His current research interests include microgrid dynamics and control, low-inertia power systems, and control of power grids with battery energy storage systems.
