Graduate Research Assistant (2D Materials Synthesis) [2 positions available]
Hawai’i Natural Energy Institute, SOEST, 11-month, temporary, extramural funds. To begin Fall 2022, two half-time position, 20 hours per week.
Duties to be Performed: Assist the Principal Investigator in conducting research related to materials development for solar energy conversion, with emphasis on developing two-dimensional materials for solar cells applications. The graduate research assistant will be expected to be trained in EHSO laboratory safety, plan and conduct materials development experiments, perform characterization techniques, and report the finding in a publication style report.
Minimum Qualifications: Master of Science in mechanical or electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, materials science, computer science, or related scientific fields. Prior admission to the engineering graduate program at the University of Hawaiʻi’s Department of Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work effectively in research organizations and to establish and maintain professional relationships with coworkers.
Salary: $2,526 per month (GA-16).
