Other Conditions: Extramural funds. To begin approximately June 2024. Renewal of appointment is contingent upon availability of funds, program/operational needs and satisfactory performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Principal Investigator in conducting research related to materials development for solar energy conversion, with emphasis on chalcogenide perovskite materials.
  • Responsible for successfully completing EHSO laboratory safety training, planning and conducting materials development experiments, performing characterization techniques, and reporting the finding in a publication style report.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Full-time, classified UHM graduate student in good academic standing (3.0 GPA or above)
  2. B.S. in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  4. Ability to work effectively in research organizations and establish and maintain professional relationships with coworkers.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Basic knowledge in solar materials sciences.
