Hawai’i Natural Energy Institute, SOEST, 11-month, temporary, extramural funds.
To begin Fall 2020, half-time position, 20 hours per week.
Duties to be Performed: Assist the Principal Investigator in conducting research related to materials development for solar energy conversion, with emphasize on device integration via thin film exfoliation and bonding. The graduate research assistant will be expected to be trained in EHSO laboratory safety, plan and conduct materials development experiments, perform characterization techniques and report the finding in a publication style report.
Minimum Qualifications: B.S. in mechanical engineering. Prior admission to the engineering graduate program at the University of Hawaii’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work effectively in research organizations and establish and maintain professional relationships with coworkers.
Desirable Qualifications: Basic knowledge in materials sciences, including semiconductor physics.
Salary: $2,429 per month.
