Training to be Performed: Participate in projects to develop hydrogen storage and purification materials.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in chemistry, material science or engineering. Demonstrated ability to synthesize and characterize absorbent materials especially ionic liquids and inorganic chemicals. Demonstrated ability to characterize materials using a variety of techniques including thermal analysis methods and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Demonstrated ability to maintain equipment and organization skills to handle multiple research tasks. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to safely conduct research with minimum supervision.
Desirable Qualifications: Prior experience in solid state and wet synthesis of inorganic materials including metal hydrides and transition metal compounds. Prior experience in synthesis and characterization of ionic liquids. Prior experience handling nanoporous materials. Prior experience performing characterizations using N2 sorption pore analyzer, TGA-DSC thermal analyzers, FT-ATR, Solid State and Solution NMR. Prior experience performing PCT measurements. Prior experience performing mechanistic studies of gas sorption on solids or liquids. Prior experience handling materials under inert atmosphere conditions.
Stipend: $ 5,000 per month.
