The Hawai‘i Natural Energy Institute employs a diverse range of faculty, staff, and graduate and undergraduate students. The institute also supports many post-graduate research affiliates. The major focus areas of HNEI’s research and development activities are alternative fuels, grid integration and renewable power generation, electrochemical power systems, advanced materials, energy efficiency and transportation, and energy policy and analysis. Within each of these areas, our faculty and staff conducts research, analysis, evaluation, and testing in various fields, such as biomass processing, hydrogen production and storage, ocean and wave energy, photovoltaic technology, and energy management.
The availability of positions within our institute usually vary and are dependent our faculty’s needs within their specific project areas at a given time. The applicant selected to fill a vacancy will be required to submit their official transcripts to the address indicated. Transcripts must have the official seal of and mailed directly from the degree-granting institution. Appointments to positions are subject to University of Hawai‘i recruitment policies and procedures and collective bargaining agreements.
