Dr. Mahesh Bansod (PhD, Physics) joined HNEI on April 1st, 2025, as a SOEST Postdoctoral Researcher. Prior to this, he worked at the Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo), Japan as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2023-2025). After obtaining his PhD degree (2021) from the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, India he worked at the Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET) at Thrissur, a national laboratory in India, as a Research Associate under the CSIR RA-ship (2021-2023).

During his research career, he obtained the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship to conduct the research on intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFCs) for PhD and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research’s (CSIR) Research Associateship for the postdoctoral research at C-MET, Thrissur. He has also qualified the National Eligibility Test for the Assistant Professor (UGC-CSIR) in India. He is a life member of Society for Materials Chemistry, India.

Dr. Bansod’s research expertise is in the area of materials chemistry, electrochemistry, crystallography, and particularly the materials development and their testing for the solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) for various applications.
