HNEI Battery Research Highlighted by Two High Impact publications

HNEI Associate Researcher Matthieu Dubarry and his team published two new articles related to battery digital twins.

First, an invited perspective article for Joule, written in collaboration with the University of Oxford and Imperial College London, entitled “Enabling battery digital twins at the industrial scale” that discusses the authors’ vision on the fusion of real-time sensor data with models to make accurate, asset-specific predictions and optimal battery decisions. This paper is available at http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.joule.2023.05.005.

Second, an article in Nature Communications entitled “Data-driven direct diagnosis of Li-ion batteries connected to photovoltaics” that presents the first application of battery digital twins to opportunistically diagnose photovoltaics connected batteries. This open access publication can be found at http://dx.doi.org/10.1038/s41467-023-38895-7.
