The 8th International Workshop on Methane Hydrate Research & Development was held in Sapporo, Japan on 28 May – 1 June 2012, (www.2012fieryice.jp). HNEI organized the first workshop in Honolulu in 2000 and has been a sponsor and member of the International Steering Committees of all subsequent workshops.
